R62 Kareedouw

Leaving the N2, either from near Humansdorp or Tstsikamma, Kareeedouw is the first town on the R62, as it takes its scenic route all the way down to the Cape. A small farming town, Kareedouw has many pleasant surprises. A number of good eateries welcome travellers passing by, as well as quaint old houses, a splendid Church and a number of pubs. The CO-OP is worth a stop to fill your fuel tank up at a discounted price ! This is the closest town to the start of the Baviaans-Kouga travel route.
R62 , Langkloof
Oudtshoorn, Uniondale and Willowmore areas
The Langkloof fruit region is located between Port Elizabeth and George. After the Western Cape Province, Langkloof is the second largest deciduous fruit-producing area in South Africa. Its fertility is visible as most of the valley is lined with fruit orchards, with beautiful mountains and perennial streams as a backdrop.
The R62 which meanders from the Cape ends its journey in the Langkloof. This route is popular as the " slow living " path taken by discerning travellers, wanting to avoid the congestion and rush of the coastal N2. The R62 boasts amny quaint and peaceful towns and villages, where time seems literally to have stood still !
